& BORDER TERRIERS.
LINKS : - Alhambra (Australia) Mistily's (Sweden) Creebay (Sweden) | A brief history of our kennel. The current strain of English Springers was founded in the early 1950s, but my family has owned the breed continuously since the summer of 1937. The foundation of the present line was acquired in 1953 after several attempts at breeding, losses occuring through distemper etc. She was of mainly Field trial bloodlines carrying much O'Vara blood. Our affix has been in use for over half a century, and is taken from the name of a seaport, which was claimed by the sea several centuries ago. The ruins lie just off Cromer and have been a hazard to shipping over the years. It was mentioned in the Domesday Book as Scepedene. Over the years, we have also owned and bred Cocker Spaniels (English), Sussex Spaniels, Field Spaniels, Labradors, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Other breeds we have owned include the odd Whippet, Beagle, Smooth Fox Terrier and a Pyrenean Mountain Dog.

About our Stud Dogs.
He is at stud by special arrangement. He holds a current clear eye certificate, and is DNA cleared from fucosidosis.
Current eye certificate, DNA clear fucosidosis, hip score 3:3.
He sired a very good litter to "Ascot Gavotte" in Sweden for the "Hunting Habit" Kennels. He is still resident with us, although under the ownership of our niece Mrs F Jonas (Orakei Bouviers) "Sykes" has a current eye certificate, is DNA'd Fucosidosis free, and has a hip score 5:6
His first puppy benched S Kristoffer at Shaneco [ex S Patsy Cline] won Minor Puppy Dog at his first Championship show. Another from the same litter, S Kurt won quite well before joining Wendy Bentley in Ireland where he is continuing to win, latest being 2 major Green Stars. A daughter of Kurt, Wenark Carousel, took BPIS all breeds at the St Patricks Day Show 2003. She has since won RCC at National Gundog August 2003, the same day that Merlin got his third CC. Merlin's achievement in gaining the title of Show Champion, is interesting in the fact that, he appears to be the first import from outside the British Isles, and almost certainly, the first undocked English Springer, to do so. His son, "Lars" [ex "Hannah"] was Best Puppy & placed in the Puppy Group at his first show, he is also showing promise as a gundog on his first few half-days out. To date "Merlin" has collected 5 further Res CCs, including Crufts, has won many BOBs at Open shows with several group wins and a BIS. Current eye certificate, DNA clear Fucosidosis, Hip score 4:2
Has started a show career and is doing fairly well, although infrequently shown. He has now completed a full season in the shooting field, and and is proficient at hunting, gamefinding and retrieving, both in cover and water. He sires sound typical puppies.
A young dog at present being run on, not yet 6 months, by Alhambra Kenneth Branagh, out of Ascot Gavotte Our current Brood Bitches
After attending a few shows, she then had a Scandinavian holiday with Pia Axelsson of the Hunting Habit kennel, going out in pup to Ziegfeld, producing some winning progeny to him. On return home she produced a numerically speaking, disappointing, litter of one, to N UCH Alhambra Kenneth Branagh, bred in Australia from Ch parents, and exported to Norway. We had hoped that he would throw his tan markings, but not this time.
